Max Suechting is a doctoral candidate in Stanford University’s Program in Modern Thought & Literature and a Teaching Fellow at Stanford’s Center for Comparative Studies in Race & Ethnicity. He studies 20th- and 21st-century American popular culture, with a focus on popular music. Other interests include media and technology theory, Afrofuturism, the speculative genres, the posthuman, and the music and culture of the Black Atlantic.
